Inclusion and governance
How records get in, how they come out, and who decides.
Who runs this
Independently owned and funded. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ISACA, IIA, ISC2, ISSA, ACFE, InfraGard, OWASP, or any other professional association. Where those names appear, they describe the chapters we serve, nothing more.
What gets listed
Every record is reviewed by a person. We look for demonstrated subject-matter depth, evidence of prior speaking or equivalent professional standing, a reasonably complete profile, and a truthful affiliation disclosure.
Placement is never for sale. No payment affects whether a record is included, how it ranks, or how quickly it is reviewed.
Vendor affiliation
Speakers declare their employer type, whether that employer sells to the kind of organizations our members work for, and whether a session will reference their products. We display those answers as the speaker's own declaration, never as our assessment.
A product-focused session is not disqualifying. It is shown prominently, and never presented as neutral education. After an event, chapters can flag a session as a sales pitch; where that repeatedly contradicts a disclosure, the record returns to review.
Records we were given
Some records come from chapters' own files rather than from the speaker. Those hold facts only — name, employer, role, location, topics. No biography and no photograph, because those belong to whoever wrote and took them.
Such records are visible only to verified chapter officers, kept out of search engines, and cannot receive contact. We invite the person to confirm or delete. If they do neither, we delete the record after twelve months.
Contacting speakers
Contact details are never published. A verified officer sends a structured request; the speaker accepts or declines from an email, without needing an account. Details are released only on acceptance.
A person reviews every request for officer access, usually against the chapter's published list of officers, and approves or declines it. Nothing is approved automatically. Verification expires annually because terms end.
Ratings
Only a chapter that actually booked a speaker through this directory can rate them. Aggregate ratings are visible to verified officers, never publicly, and are not shown at all below five responses — a score built from one or two looks like a signal without being one.
Speakers see their own aggregate and may attach a reply to any feedback. Ratings older than three years drop out. Testimonials are published only with the speaker's agreement.
Removal and disputes
Any speaker can delete their listing at any time from their own account, or by replying to any email we've sent. We don't ask why.
If a submission is declined and you think we've got it wrong, reply to the message and a person will look again. We keep a record of every inclusion decision and the reason for it.
If this stops
If the directory winds down, every speaker gets their own record and every chapter gets its request history, in a portable format, before anything is deleted.
